Disinfection without adding anything to the water

An ultraviolet system passes water through a stainless chamber around a UV lamp. The light disrupts the DNA of bacteria, viruses and protozoa so they cannot reproduce, and it does it without changing taste or adding chemicals. UV is most often installed for private wells, for homes that want an extra layer of protection behind their filtration, and for households with someone whose health makes them cautious about what comes out of the tap. Irvine Water Systems installs UV with the sediment filtration in front of it that it needs, because cloudy water shields microbes from the light. We also tell you plainly when municipal water does not call for it.

What a UV installation includes

UV only works when the water reaching it is clear. These are the parts we handle.

Need assessment

We look at your supply and your reasons for wanting UV, and tell you honestly whether it adds protection or just cost.

Flow-rated chamber

The unit is sized to your peak flow so water gets enough exposure even with several fixtures running.

Sediment pre-filtration

A filter upstream removes particles that could shade microbes from the lamp.

Placement after other treatment

UV goes last in line, after softening or carbon, so it treats the cleanest possible water.

Power and alarm

We set up the controller near an outlet and show you the lamp-life and failure alarms.

Bypass valves

The system can be isolated for lamp changes without cutting water to the house.

System sanitizing

On new installs we sanitize the downstream plumbing so nothing that was already in the lines lingers.

Lamp and sleeve schedule

You get the replacement timing for the lamp and the quartz sleeve cleaning interval.

How we install UV

1

Decide if it belongs

We go over the report and your concerns. If UV is not adding meaningful protection for your supply, we say so before you spend anything.

2

Install the chamber

We mount the pre-filter and UV chamber, wire the controller and add bypass valves. It usually fits in one visit alongside other treatment.

3

Sanitize and verify

We sanitize the lines, power up the lamp, confirm the controller reads normal and walk you through the alarms.

Why choose us for UV

Pre-filtration done right

UV fails quietly when water is cloudy. We make sure what reaches the lamp is clear.

Straight talk on need

We will not install UV on a supply that does not benefit from it.

Simple upkeep

One lamp change a year in most setups, and we tell you exactly when.
